THE LFE (Efay) Lab
The inaugural Black Ensemble Production's (formerly The Black
Ensemble Players a Black digital theater) Ifẹ̀ (Ee-fay) Lab is a 12-week
fellowship highlighting two black solo performing artists in the Twin
Cities. Each fellow will be commissioned to create two pieces: one
10-minute solo piece to perform live and another 5-minute solo piece
which we’ll film. Lfe pronounced (Efay) means orgin story.
The purpose of Lfe Lab
is bring together performing artists to create
pieces that investigate what home means to them. The client wanted
to marry ancient, modern and afro-futuristic aesthetics for the branding.
